Jesus “Chuy” Castro, 90, of Ozona, Texas was welcomed into heaven on July 7, 2020.
Chuy was born in Ozona on October 17, 1929. Chuy served in the U.S. Army. He also served as a Crockett County Commissioner for 16 years. He was also employed by The Ozona Stockman and also worked for Thorpe’s Laundry for many years.
As we all know, Chuy loved people! He especially loved his wife of 66 years, Blanca Castro. They have been members of Templo Siloe Assembly of God Church for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Diana Mitchell (Scott) and Cathy Rutherford (Wolv) and his son, Jesse Castro (Marivel). He is also survived by his granddaughters, Abbey Hobdy, Meagan and Morgan Espinosa and great-granddaughters, Ashlynn Hobdy and Oaklynn Espinosa.
Before his services, the family received word that Chuy had tested negative for COVID-19. He died of natural causes.
Services were Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Templo Siloe Assembly of God Church with burial following at Lima Cemetery. Arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Edmundo Vargas Sr., Mando Sanchez, Lalo Garza Sr., Wolv Rutherford, Scott Mitchell and Oscar Vargas.

We especially want to thank the Crockett County Care Center for taking such good care of Chuy his last years he was on the earth. Prayers go out to all the employees.
We will cherish the time and the beautiful life Chuy gave us! We will miss him!
