This office has issued 1 Blizzard Warning in its history (December 2009 across the Big Country). We may see a second this weekend. Dangerously cold conditions with gusty winds producing blowing and drifting snow likely for Sunday Night and Monday morning. Temperatures falling into the teens and then single digits. Wind chill readings as low as -20 for Sunday Night and Monday morning. YES....TWENTY DEGREES BELOW ZERO. Less wind but maybe even colder for Tuesday morning. Actual temperatures falling below zero are not out of the question.
Travel will likely be a mess by late Sunday. Which means that you have today and tomorrow to get ready. Its been years and years since we have seen these type of temperatures. Pipes will freeze if not protected. Your pets and livestock will need some extra help to stay warm. And for goodness sake, use extra caution using your space heaters and fireplaces! Lets not make a situation worse than it should be.
