Lions win first game against Comstock

The OHS Lions won their first game, 46-19, against Comstock on Nov. 19 at the OHS Davidson Gym.

Score by quarter: Ozona - 8 13 9 16 - 46; Comstock - 7 3 4 5 - 19.

“Considering we had 30 minutes of practice, it was good to see our boys get after it in the gym. Once we settled down after the first quarter, our depth and hustle allowed us to push the tempo as the game wore on. We have a long way to go, but it was a good start to the season,” said Coach Jeff Shelton.

Lions season ends against Panthers

BROWNWOOD - The Ozona Lions season came to an end with a 51-13 loss in the Class 2A Division I Bi-District Game against Seymour Friday night.

“Seymour outplayed us on both sides of the ball. They played quicker and more aggressive that we did. We did not come up with stops needed to win and did not convert on critical situations. Turnovers hurt us,” said Head Coach Kyle Freeman.

Ozona’s first score came midway through the second quarter on a pass from Quarterback Jesse Vega to Jacob Childress to make it 21-7.

However, two mishandled snaps on the next two plays would give the Panthers a safety.
