End of the line: Lions end season against Flatonia

Article Image Alt Text
The Ozona Lions regular season ended Friday night with a 31-7 loss against Flatonia in the first round of the playoffs at San Antonio Central Catholic High School Field. Ozona’s only score came early in the game on an 80-
yard touchdown by Daniel Gonzales. “Friday was a tough loss. Our kids represented us well all season, I just wish we could have kept playing. Injuries put us behind the eight ball and our guys made a valiant effort, we just didn’t catch any breaks. It seemed every time Flatonia fumbled or made a mistake the ball bounced right back to them. They were a good ball club and we just couldn’t seem to  find a break at anytime,” said Coach Edward Perez.

Lions fall hard to Brackett, bi-district game Friday against Flatonia

Article Image Alt Text
The Ozona Lions lost their last game of the regular season 55-22 Friday against the Brackett Tigers. “Our performance last week was not exactly what anybody anticipated. I think we came off a big win against Junction and may have lost a bit of focus. I believe our team understands that there is no more room for let downs. I think every game brings with it something to learn, for us I think we learned that we have to remain focused,” said Ozona head coach Edward Perez
