Dorothy Jones

Funeral services for Dorothy Jones were held Monday, October 1, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Plains with the Rev. Wesley Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Plains Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Dorothy passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Brownfield. She was born October 16, 1923 in Tokio to Hugh and Dolores (Hill) Snodgrass.

She married Eutis Ray Jones on December 22, 1940 in Brownfield. She was a long-time resident of Terry Cunty. Dorothy loved living on the farm and was part of the Home Demonstration in Plains. She was the sweetest woman you ever met. Memories of her will make your heart sing. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Dolores Snodgrass, her husband of 72 years, Eutis Ray Jones, and her son, Jerry Jones.

Adelfa G. Duran

Adelfa G. Duran, 90, died Sept. 23, 2018 in the Crockett County Care Center. She was born Jan. 1, 1928 in Ozona. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters, Maria Duran and Anna Sanchez, sisters, Rosa Garza and Lula Vargas, and three grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date. Lupe H. Martinez

Lupe H. Martinez died Sept. 18, 2018. Services were Saturday, Sept. 22, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial following in Lima Cemetery. She was born April 20, 1946 in Ozona. She served as the Activity Director at the senior center. She is survived by her daughter Yvette Martinez, son Lionel Martinez, Jr., brother Jose Hernandez, sister Eva H. Robert Allen Tims

SHEFFIELD - Robert Allen Tims passed away September 17, 2018 at Iraan General Hospital. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Joe Bob Scott. Brother, Johnny Tims and sister-in-law Pearl Tims. Grandchildren, Lena Hill and husband Tyler Spurgin, Lauren Daniels-Albert and husband Reece Albert, Lynsi Daniels, and Brice Daniels, and his five precious great-granddaughters, Shayleigh, Addison, Avery, Olivia, and Elaina, sister-in-law June Roberts, brother-in-law Gene Phelps and wife Amelia and nieces and nephews, Steve Tims, Tammy Tims, Veldon Tims and Trina Pitts. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce, and his parents, Aubrey and Effie Tims. Bobby was born April 20, 1940 south of Sanderson. He was raised in west Texas and graduated from Bledsoe high school in 1958. He joined the Air Force in 1962 and was stationed in Guam. He married Joyce in 1963 and Robin was born a year later in Amarillo.

Michael Ray Hill

Michael Ray Hill, 21, died suddenly on September 15, 2018. Visitation for Michael will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, at Kerbow Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 20, at the First Baptist Church of Ozona. He was born to Ray and Sheri Hill on June 8, 1997. Michael graduated from Ozona High School in 2015. Because of his love of auto and diesel mechanics, he attended Lincoln Tech in Grand Prairie, Texas, graduating on February 4, 2017. He returned to Ozona after graduation to join his dad in working the family ranch. Anyone who knew Michael knew he always had a smile and a laugh that could light up a room. That smile or laugh usually had some kind of mischief behind it. Michael loved his family, and one of the joys of his life included playing golf with his mom at the weekly Wednesday scramble at the Ozona golf course, where he would often be seen playing in his flip flops or bare feet.

Graham Hugh Childress

Graham Hugh Childress of Ozona, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 11,2018 at the age of 82. Services were held Saturday, September 15, at the Ozona United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home. He was born February 17, 1936 in San Angelo, Texas to Hugh Francis Jr. and Rachel Graham Childress. He graduated from Ozona High School in 1954. Graham went on to graduate from Rice University in 1958 as an officer in the United States Navy. After graduation, he was stationed in New London, Connecticut where he later met his wife of 58 years, Marion Ward Childress. They were married June 18, 1960. He served in both Korea and Vietnam and ended his Naval career as Lieutenant Commander. After coming home from the Navy, he began his ranching career on the Block Y ranch in Dryden, Texas in 1967. While living in Terrell County, he was a prominent member of the community and served many years as county commissioner.

Mary Savannah Fort Mayfield

Mary Savannah Fort Mayfield was born April 9, 1921 to William and Genie Fort and died September 7, 2018 in New Braunfels, Texas. She married Jake Mayfield in 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, husband and two grandsons Woodrow Wilson Mayfield and Robert Scott Mayfield, Jr. She is survived by her children Johnny and Jene Mayfield, W.T Mayfield, Terry and Grace Mayfield Brooks, Scott and Pamela Mayfield, her grandchildren and great grandchildren are Savannah and Bill Roberson (Caleb and Liam) Lee Mayfield, Margaret Bryant, Shara and Pedro Castro, Selah Price, Marla and Andy Brown (Garrett, Cody, Dylan, Keira) Travis and Victoria Mayfield (Isabel, John Carter, Evelyn), John and Jacque Runge (Carter, Presley, Jack, Paul) Mitzi Hardeman, Evan and Leslie Saenger. Savannah was artistic, musically inclined, an avid reader and bridge player. She was affectionately called “Brown Eyed Beauty” by her husband Jake. Her grandchildren called her “Darlin” and Memom.
