Corinne Phillips Carleton

Corinne Phillips Carleton, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home. She was born October 16, 1929 in Del Rio Texas to Crockett County ranching pioneers Arthur Byrd and Rachel ‘Rae’ Crawford Phillips. Corinne grew up on the family ranch close to Ozona, Texas, where she attended public schools and graduated from Ozona High School in 1947. She was the top rated girl from a senior class of

13. From there she attended Gulf Park Girls School in Gulf Port, Mississippi. After graduation from Gulf Park, she graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, where she was also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. It was at the University of Texas, that she met Toby Carleton on a blind date in 1949. Some years later they were married and spent 62 happy years together.

Juan Jose Coy Jr.

Juan Jose Coy Jr. was called home to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by family on January 17, 2019. He was born June 23, 1974 in Ozona, Texas.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his parents; Juan Sr. and Silvia Coy of Ozona; sisters; Kim Guiterrez and husband Andy of Lubbock; Evangela Lopez and husband Mario of Ozona; Cheyenne Coy of Ozona; Josae Coy of San Angelo; nieces; Gaby, Lil Andi, Sofia and nephews; Lorenzo, Gio, John-Michael, and Daniel Luke.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Juan and Josephine Fierro, Moises and Maria Isabel Coy Rodriguez, and Uncle Fred Vela Fierro and his beloved pug.

Paw was reunited with the love of his life (Maw) in Heaven on Tuesday January 16, 2019.

Paw was born January 4, 1939 to Martin and Denis Moran in Ozona, Texas. He married Ernestina Rodriguez on September 23, 1971 and they spent 47 years at each other’s side until Maw passed on November 13, 2018.

He attended school in Ozona and served proudly in the United States Air Force. Paw talked often about his time he spent serving in Greenland and Wyoming.

Paw was a very hard worker all his life. He worked roustabout for Lilly Construction and C.O. Spencer before becoming a lease operator for Meridian Oil (later Burlington Resources). After his retirement, he started his own business as a contract pumper.

Paw was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers Florencio Moran and Francisco Moran and son Joey Moran.

Sara L. Estrada

Sara L. Estrada died January 13, 2019. She was born December 14, 1962.

Services were held Thursday, January 17, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial following in Lima Cemetery.

Survivors include husband Raymundo, daughter Abelika Estrada, sons Rogelio and Erik Estrada and six grandchildren.

Teodora Lara Diaz

Teodora Lara Diaz was born on December 26, 1927 to the late Delfina Ramirez Lara and Alejos Lara.

She was one of 12 siblings, seven of whom proceeded her in death.

In 1948, she married Eduvigen Diaz and together, they made their home in Ozona. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked as a custodian for the local doctor’s office.

Teodora was a pioneer in establishing the local Assembly of God Church. The church still stands today, testament of her life’s greatest achievement.

She ministered alongside her pastor husband, touching a countless number of lives with her fervent faith and Godly example. Teodora and her husband spread the Word of God in Ozona, Eldorado, Crane, and Sonora until they could no longer travel due to health problems.

In her golden years, Teodora developed Alzheimer’s disease. The lord called her home on January 9, 2019.

Inez Gutierrez

Inez Gutierrez, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 31, 2018 at San Angelo Community Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1955 in Ozona, Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ozona with burial following in Lima Cemetery. Visitation at Kerbow Funeral Home. Arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home.

Inez was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Hortencia Ybarra, father, Inez Ybarra, and brother, George Ybarra.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Benito Gutierrez, sons, Benny Gutierrez and David Gutierrez, daughters, Carmen Gutierrez and Angelic Sarabia, brothers, Santiago Ybarra, Joe Ybarra, Pete Ybarra and Edward Ybarra, sisters, Rosa Leal and Angelita Pena, 10 grandchildren, and 3 greatgrandchildren.

Juanita L. Gutierrez

Juanita L. Gutierrez passed away on the morning of January 2, 2019. Juanita was born on June 21, 1933 in Ozona, Texas to Francisco and Josefa Lopez. She worked for the Crockett County School District for many years as a teacher and librarian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Hector Gutierrez, her brothers Dr. Thomas Lopez, Alonzo Lopez and Carlos “Charlie” Lopez and her sister Concha Zapata.

Survivors include her sons Hector and his wife Lupe Gutierrez of San Angelo, Texas; Jose Luis of Ozona, Texas; and Heriberto and his wife Carol Gutierrez of Carthage, New York; five grandchildren, April, Ashley, Hector, Grace and Autumn and two great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Reina; her brother Justo and his wife Frances of Andrews, Texas.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial in Lima Cemetery.

Adolfo C. Reyes Jr., 53, died Dec. 25, 2018.
