Catherine M. Carson passed away in Shannon Hospital after a brief battle with cancer on March 5, 2019.

Cathy was born on January 26, 1947 in Austin.

She is survived by Bill, her loving husband of 50+ years; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Greg Lawford and two granddaughters Abbey and Haley; her daughter and son-in-law Haley and Rodney Najar, and granddaughter Chelsey; and her daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Jason Green, and two grandsons Carson and Logan. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Bruce Rogers; and her brother and sister-in-law Hank and Eva Miller; her mother-in-law, Norma Carson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bonnie and Buddy Baldridge, along with nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents LaVaun and Henry Miller and her father-in-law Bill Carson, Sr.

Billy West Crawford

Bill Crawford, 84, died on Monday, February 25, 2019. He was born on October 6, 1934 in Edinburg, Texas to Herbert & Rosa Crawford. He was the eldest of their four children.

On July 26, 1952 he married Geneva Lovelle Barnett in Natalia, Texas and together they raised seven children.

He went to high school in Natalia, Texas and in his early years, lived in the Devine/Bigfoot area. In 1968, he moved his family to the Bissett Ranch near Ozona, Texas, where he worked until 1975.

Many precious memories were made while the kids were growing up on the ranch. Then he moved the family to town and opened and operated an auto shop for over 30 years.

As an Ozona community member for many years, Bill loved coaching Little League Baseball and influenced many young people as their coach. He was a lifelong supporter of the Ozona Lions and Lady Lions. He loved watching his children and later his grandchildren compete in various sports.

Bill Crawford, 84, died on Monday, February 25, 2019.  He was born on October 6, 1934 in Edinburg, Texas to Herbert & Rosa Crawford. He was the eldest of their four children.

Richard Dale Burger

Senior DPS Trooper Richard Dale Burger (Retired) passed away peacefully at his home in Independence, MO., after a lengthy illness and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Dale was born on February 4, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara, his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Noel, and two grandchildren, Richard and Kori. He is also leaving behind his sister, Frances Pierson, his niece and her husband, Jennifer and Aubrey Stark, plus grandnephews and grandnieces.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Dick Burger, his mother, Marie Burger, and his daughter, Katrina.

Dale retired on September 30, 1999 after proudly serving the citizens of the great state of Texas for 37 years. During his career, he and his family lived in Abilene, Odessa, El Paso, San Antonio, Ozona and Austin. He worked in Driver License, Highway Patrol, Motor Vehicle Inspection, and License and Weight services.

Daniel Alonso Salas Jr.

Daniel Alonso Salas Jr. was born at 11:01 a.m. February 4, 2019 and passed peacefully in the arms of his loving parents just a few hours later at 3:16 p.m. the same day in Del Rio, Texas.

Daniel Jr. is the son of Cristina Mata, of Ozona, and Daniel Alonso Salas, of Mexico. His grandparents are Jose L and Martha Mata, of Ozona, and Daniel Salas and Cristina Isabel Galvan, of Mexico. Uncles and Aunts are Luis A. Mata and Laura Torres Mata, of Ozona, and Leonardo, Yuridia and Abigail Salas, of Mexico.

Services and visitation were held February 6, 2019 and February 7, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Del Rio and then transported to Zaragoza, Mexico for burial.

Larry Ronald Lay

Larry Ronald Lay, 77, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019, in San Angelo surrounded by family.

Services were Monday, February 11, 2019 at Robert Massie riverside Chapel with Pastor Rick Justice, of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Brownwood, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Lay was born May 15, 1941 in Andrews. He was a 1959 graduate of Lakeview High School. He married Nancy K. Bonham on June 14, 1962 in San Angelo. Larry was a former resident of Fort Stockton where he worked for the Firestone Test Center as a Production Manager for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a resident of San Angelo since 2011. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo.

Mom, sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend Amalia Hernandez, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday Morning, February 5, 2019, at her residence. She was born August 30, 1944 in Ozona, Texas, to Anita Rivera and Jose Ramirez.

She lived in Dallas, Texas and was retired from JCPenney as a hairstylist. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her humor, her style, and her exuberant love.

Amalia was preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Hernandez; parents, Anita Rivera and Jose Ramirez; son, Ismael Hernandez; brother, Martin Martinez.

Mariana Mendez Garza, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2019, at Shannon Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Garza, and father, Antonio Mendez. She is survived by her loving daughter, Rita Vasquez, her loving granddaughters, Kymberlee and Megan Vasquez, and loving grandson, Jeremiah H./R., aka Patito, her mother, Rita Martinez, sister, Matlida Camarillo, husband, Manuel, all in Ozona, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ozona with interment following at Lima Cemetery. Arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home.
