Gina Wilson Broyles

Gina Wilson Broyles passed away in Abilene, Texas on April 29, 2014 at 5 a.m. Gina was born on July 13, 1963 in Quinter, Kansas to Randel “Randy” Martin Wilson Jr. and Regina  “Jeanne” Wilson. Gina grew up in Hoxie, Kansas and then Ozona, Texas. As a young woman, Gina returned to Hoxie, Kansas and graduated high school in 1982. In 1984, Gina moved to Abilene, Texas, where she worked as a cosmetologist. Gina became mother to four children, Matthew, Shaina, Tina, and Michael. Gina was a loving and devoted mother, often sacrificing to ensure her children were provided for. Gina is survived by mother Jeanne Wilson; sons Matthew Meitl and Michael Mahoney; daughters Shaina Meitl and Tina Meitl; brother and sister in law Randel and Lori Wilson and family; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had a date! Carl Hilton Thurman, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Hillside Health Care Center in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Missoula. Carl was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Sonora, Texas, to
Maud and James Thurman and was raised in Ozona. After graduation he joined the Army Air Corp from Dec. 1942 until his honorable discharge in Feb. 1946. He wasan airplane mechanic and was stationed in San Angelo,

Harley H. “Sandy” Brooks, Jr., 60, of Iraan, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014, in Del Rio, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Iraan Civic Center with the Reverend Mike Wright officiating.

Sandy is survived by his loving wife, Gay Brooks of Iraan; his son Ben Brooks and his wife Sara of San Angelo; his daughter, Betsy Brooks Faris and her husband Bob of Midland; his grandson, Brooks Randall Faris of Midland; a brother, Scott Steenson and his wife Sherri of Fairview, Texas; a sister, Janet Caldwell and her husband Don of Brownwood, Texas; and many precious nephews, and other family members and more great friends than anyone can count.

Josephine Kay Curry Emery, 69, granddaughter of deceased longtime Terrell, Val Verde, Presidio, and Crockett County ranchers Cam and Josephine Longley, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at home with her family in Ozona, Texas. She and her husband Neil retired in Idalou, Texas and moved to Terrell County, along with daughter Kimberly Kay and son-in-law Eddie Lozano, and operated the original Longley Ranch Headquarters for 11 years.
