BUSY THURSDAY: Wellness Center Grand Opening, OES Meet the Teacher, OMS School Supply Drop-Off

The J.Cleo Thompson Wellness Center will have its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at 11:30 a.m. Today (Aug. 16). The event is hosted by the Ozona Chamber of Commerce. Everyone is invited to attend.

Ozona Elementary School announced Wednesday night that the 2018-2019 Class Lists have been posted. Meet the Teacher will be from 4-6 p.m. Today (Aug. 16) at OES. Students can meet their teacher and drop off school supplies.

The OES PTO is asking for donations for its School Supply closet. These supplies will be used by teachers for students who need supplies replenished or new students who come to the district without any supplies. Too often teachers take it upon themselves to refill their student's supplies, or purchase supplies, for students in need. The OES PTO is asking the community of Ozona to help out by dropping off any new school supplies in the special PTO box located inside OES.

Remembering the faGraduates look to the future

BY MELISSA PERNER THE OZONA STOCKMAN

Diplomas were conferred on 40 students as the Class of 2018 graduated Friday night at Lion Stadium. In his welcome speech, Gerson Daniel Posadas thanked the parents who have had the challenge and blessing of raising and preparing all the students for adulthood. “After all the sacrifices our parents made for us to have the tools to succeed in our school years, tonight is their validation,” he said. Posadas also thanked teachers for all their help and guidance and for his friends who made high school fun.

“We appreciate everyone who made an effort to come to our graduation. Everyone in this stadium is here to celebrate our accomplishments. Everyone is also proud to see us leave one stage of our lives and see us move on to another stage,” he said.
