END OF THE LINE: Lions season ends against Panthers

Article Image Alt Text

BROWNWOOD - The Ozona Lions season came to an end with a 51-13 loss in the Class 2A Division I Bi-District Game against Seymour Friday night.

Ozona's first score came midway through the second quarter on a pass from Quarterback Jesse Vega to Jacob Childress to make it 21-7.

However, two mishandled snaps on the next two plays would give the Panthers a safety.

Just as the Lions had a chance to score right before halftime, the Panthers intercepted the ball and returned it for a 95-yard touchdown.

The Panthers never looked back after that as they dominated the second half.

Ozona scored again in the fourth quarter as Joe Perez dove for the end zone.

Plagued by a season of injuries, and players having to move up and change positions, the Lions fought hard against tough teams all season long.

The Lions finish the season 2-8 overall.
