Fund set up for Tiffany Ramirez

A benefit account has been set up at the Ozona National Bank for Tiffany Ramirez. The account information is under Tiffany Ramirez Benefit Fund. Tiffany has recently been diagnosed with Cervical Cancer and will be making multiple trips to Lubbock, Texas to see her oncologist Dr. Phillips.

Salcedo-Rodriguez to wed in June

Ramiro and Maria Salcedo are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter Vasti Salcedo to Moises Rodriguez, son of Eleazar and Amada Rodriguez. Vasti was born and raised in Long Beach, Calif. She is a 2006 graduate of Wilson High School and moved to El Paso in 2008. She is currently employed at El Paso Dentistry 4 Kids. She is a member of Templo Cristiano Poderoso Guerrero where she loves to sing and play drums for the Lord.

Taylor chosen as Star Student

OHS Junior Dacie Taylor was honored as one of the 20 San Angelo Standard-Times Star Students last week at a banquet at Howard College in San Angelo. The event included, through the generosity of Angelo State University, a $200 voucher that can be applied toward courses at ASU.

WOUNDED WARRIORS

WOUNDED WARRIORS stopped in Ozona Friday on their way to Lake Amistad for a fishing trip with Reel Thanx from Midland. Gregg and Corba Jones provided a shrimp fest for the group. Joe Jurado and Janet Pullen and the Crockett County Road Department Employees assisted, and the group was escorted in by the Ozona Volunteer Fire Department.

Taylor-Ellis to wed in June

Steve and Renee’ Taylor are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter Scarlett Nicole Taylor to Brandon Lee Ellis. The couple met while both were working in San Angelo in 2013. Scarlett is a graduate of Ozona High School and Texas Tech University. She is currently employed with the Andrews ISD as a Speech Pathologist.

RIO GRANDE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE presented a donation check to Ozona Project Graduation last week. RGEC contributes to Project Graduation activities in many of the 18 Texas and two New Mexico counties where it provides electricity. CROCKETT COUNTY COURTHOUSE ANNEX LADIES showed off their Kentucky Derby hats on Friday. Winners of the hat contest were: Most Tacky - Dee Fierro and Reba Bennett, the Mexican Hat Twins; Most Creative - Ana Knaack and Elanie Harp; Best Theme - Christy Cruz and Rhonda Shaw; Prettiest - Karen Webb and Dolores Ramirez and Best Flower Hat - Sarah Stewart and Janet Thompson. Judges were Nell Wester, Sandy Bebee and Beth Hoover.

BRACKETTVILLE, TEXAS – Join us for the next bimonthly Pecos Trail Partners Event, May 19, starting at 10 a.m., in Fort Clark Springs, Texas at the Las Moras Grill near the golf course. The public is welcome to attend, and we especially encourage the attendance of those involved in tourism and heritage preservation in the region.
