Scarlett Nicole Taylor and Brandon Lee Ellis were married at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, in a Pearls, Lace and Paris themed Garden, double-ring ceremony held for the family. The couple was married at the home of the bride’s aunt, Amy and Patrick Pritchett, in Lubbock. The guests were greeted by the bride’s cousin Katy Pritchett. Guests were ushered into the dining area where Hunter Gaskins and Ashley Unger helped guests register and write personal notes of best wishes and advice to the newlyweds. The table featured family wedding photos of parents, grandparents, and great grandparents along with family pictures from the groom’s brother. Engagement photos of the bride and groom were also on display. Intertwined among the photos was the wedding veil from the mother-of-the bride’s wedding and an Eiffel Tower décor piece. Community garden meeting Thursday

By Diane Womack

I’m sure most of you have heard about or possibly even seen the community garden that is being developed on the corner of Avenue J and Couch Street. This is being sponsored by the Crockett County Soil & Water Conservation District #235. That being said, it could not have progressed without the support and help of many others. Triple C Hardware & Lumber, Lilly Construction, Venegas Fencing, Oscar Lopez Construction, Rick and Shannon Hunnicutt and Louis Bunger, J.P. Murray, Tori Dutton, Todd Jones, Michael Mitchell and Arturo Guerra have been instrumental in getting some of the big things done in preparing the lot.
