Toys For Tots taking donations

Toys For Tots bins are available at The General Store, Dollar General and Sonic. Volunteers will be collecting toys and monetary donations from 10 a.m.-noon every Saturday before Christmas at the town square. Saturday, Dec. 14, Crockett County 4-H students will be volunteering at Lowe's Grocery Store carrying grocery bags to vehicles and asking for a donation to the Toys For Tots. They will also  start at 10 a.m.

Angel Tree gifts due today

Angel Tree ornaments are available at Ozona National Bank, Crockett National Bank, OLPH Catholic Church, First Baptist Church, The General Store and the Ozona United Methodist Church. Gifts are due today, Dec. 11. Gifts need to be wrapped and brought back to the tree where the ornament was taken. For more information, call the Ozona United Methodist Church at 392-3060

Art and crafts vendors wanted for Holiday Hands Christmas Art & Crafts Fair on Dec. 12 at the Crockett County Civic Center. Booth rentals are 10x10 spaces indoors which goes to support the Helping Hands Meals-on- Wheels program in Ozona.

THE OZONA HIGH SCHOOL ONE ACT PLAY STUDENTS

traveled to Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas on Nov. 13, to watch a full length production of The Diviners by Jim Leonard. This is the same play the OHS students will be performing for this years UIL OAP. Not only were
the students able to watch a production of their show but were able to support former OHS OAP student Jessica Borrego who had a leading role in the Western Texas College production.

Senior Bingo Social Monday

The center was closed for Veterans Day this past Monday. It is always nice to have a day off, but there is a lot of preparation for having a day off. This article had to be turned in on Friday instead of Monday and signs need to be  posted on the windows saying we are closed for the Holiday

Relay For Life seeks committee members

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is looking for committee members and teams to be a part of the 2014 Relay For Life Of Crockett County. Anyone interested in having a team or wanting to be on the committee is  invited to attend. The first meeting will be held on Nov. 21, noon at El Chato's Restaurant.

Ozona, Reagan Garden Clubs host fall convention

Ozona Garden Club and the Reagan Garden Club of Big Lake together hosted the fall District VIII convention Nov. 2 at the Crockett County Civic Center. Charlotte Harrell and Rosalind Williams were co-chairmen of the  convention. Thirty-seven members from Abilene, Breckenridge, Big Lake, Coleman, Ozona, and Stamford were welcomed to Ozona by County Judge Fred Deaton, Chamber of Commerce director Shannon Biggerstaff and  Ozona Garden Club President Rosalind Williams.

Gordita plate fund-raiser today

The family of future Marine Maria LaVon Villareal is selling gordita plates on today, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. until sold out at the Mitch Vargas residence at 403 Santa Ana St. in Ozona.
