Business of the Month: Pizza Mia on the Square

The Ozona Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Pizza Mia on the Square as our Business of the Month.
“We opened our business in January of this year. I have enjoyed serving the school kids and the community. One thing I never expected was the amount of people that would stop in from out of town. I have made pizzas for people from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Belgium and from all over the United States. They are so much fun to visit with! When I opened the business, I wasn’t sure how things would turn out, but you have to believe in yourself,” said Sandra Marmolejo, owner.

Bingo Social Nov. 14

BY BRENDA NEWTON

We had a great Halloween party at Bingo last Monday. There were some really great costumes and a lot of fun had by everyone. The Lions won their game with Christoval on Friday, then a great Fall Festival on Saturday. And the Cowboys won their game Sunday. What more could we ask for? Next month's Bingo Social will be Nov. 14. We will be serving lasagna with garlic bread, salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Members show off Halloween costumes at October meeting

BY GILDA HAMILTON

The Ozona Woman’s Forum met at the Senior Center on Oct. 18 with 26 members present. The theme for the day was Halloween Fun, and many were dressed in Halloween attire. President Beth Hoover called the meeting to order, and after a short business meeting she read an inspiring devotion on the subject of gratitude taken from Oprah Winfrey’s book “What I Know for Sure.” Oprah wrote that gratitude can transform any situation, and the more grateful you become, the more you have to be grateful for.

In the summer of 1915 CL Meador put the first pieces of the puzzle that would become the X Bar Ranch together in southwest Schleicher County. Fast forward 80 years, and the third, fourth and fifth generations ushered in the next generation of ranching by starting the X Bar Ranch Nature Retreat. Now, after recently celebrating their 100th anniversary of ranching heritage, in 2016 the Meadors are proud to have been hosting guests from around the state, country and world for 20 years
