Garden Club brightens Care Center

Eleven members of Ozona Garden Club met in the kitchen of the Crockett County Civic Center for their February meeting.

Mrs. Willa Perry and Mrs. Jeannine Henderson were hostesses, serving a delicious hummingbird cake. President Vicki Stokes conducted the business meeting.

Heart Truth for Women program Mon., Feb. 27 at Methodist Church

Please join us for a free health information session about heart disease and will learn about women's risk factors and steps to take for heart healthy living.

The Heart Truth For Women event will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. in the Ozona United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall located at 12 E 12th St.

Ozona students graduate from Lincoln Tech

Michael Hill and Emmanuel Oritz both graduated from the Lincoln Technical Institute on Feb. 4 in a ceremony held at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas. Michael and Emmanuel both graduated with degrees in diesel and truck with automotive technology.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS

County officials, chamber board of directors, staff, and ambassadors all gathered at a Ribbon Cutting ceremony held Thursday, Feb. 2, to welcome Epic Permian Operating, LLC as a new member of the Chamber of Commerce and to the community of Ozona. Guests were treated to a delicious barbecue lunch and celebratory cake.

Medina named Texas A&M 'Distinguished Student'

Vivian M. Medina has been named to Texas A&M University's "Distinguished Student" list for the 2016 Fall Semester. "Distinguished Student," recognizes those who earned a 3.5 to 3.74 GPA while taking at least 15 hours for the fall semester.

Ozona students receive scholarships from the B5 Foundation

Four Ozona students have received scholarships from the B5 Foundation. Jessica Borrego, Jeremy Munoz, Sierra Stokes and Lexi Poindexter, along with Abrian Gonzales, of Lubbock, each received a $1,000 scholarship on Feb. 1. All students attend Texas Tech University.

KC Kitchen last Wednesday of the month

The Knights of Columbus will begin the KC Kitchen on the last Wednesday of each month. The meals will be served once a month. The meals are open to anyone, no questions asked, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
