HOMECOMING VICTORY: Lions pounce Eagles, 41-6

LION STADIUM - The Ozona Lions got their first win of the season, 41-6, over the Junction Eagles Friday night.

In front of the homecoming crowd, the Lions (1-3) rolled through the Eagles defense with touchdowns and major runs by Abraham Rodriguez, Zachary Talamantez, Aiden Fuentes and Senior Quarterback Marcus Perez.

"It felt good to come out here, play hard and work as a team. We've just to improve and many more wins to come," Perez said.

Ozona's defense was also hard-hitting, holding the Eagles to only one touchdown, and causing at least turnovers.

"You young bucks jumped in there. I'm proud of that," said Head Coach Kyle Freeman after the game. "The next few weeks are important."

Ozona will play Crane next week. Crane (3-2) defeated Stanton, 59-13, Friday night.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in Crane.

BREAKING: Flu Shot Walk-in Clinics Tuesday and Wednesday

It looks like Flu Season may be off to an early start this year!
Family Health Center of Ozona had a confirmed case earlier this week, and an Ozona child was diagnosed with the flu at another location. It has been confirmed that several cases have already been diagnosed in San Angelo as well.
Due to our new electronic medical records system, we will no longer be able to host the popular Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinic that we did for many years. Also, in the past we have allowed walk-ins in the after hours Urgent Care for flu shots, and that will no longer be an option either.

"These boys work so hard, 6 p.m. every morning, running in the dark, on the track and on the hills, 50-plus miles a week. That work paid off today. It was a great way to start the season," said Coach Jeff Shelton.

The OHS Lady Lions placed second as team at Sonora. Roslynn Mendez was sixth and Ysabella Flores ninth as individuals.
