BREAKING: Open House for new Crockett County Jail set for Jan. 3.

An open house for the new Crockett County Jail is scheduled for Jan. 3.

During Monday’s regular commissioners’ court meeting, County Judge Fred Deaton announced that a ribbon cutting with the Ozona Chamber of Commerce will host the event from 10-11 a.m. at the new location on 121 South Highway 163.

The Texas State Jail Commission will be inspecting the facility on Dec. 19.

Sheriff Robert Rodriguez told the commissioners he was “pretty confident” the building will pass.

U.S. Post Office to be closed Wednesday, Dec. 5, as part of National Day of Mourning. Stockman delivery will be affected.

The US Post Office will be CLOSED, Wednesday, Dec. 5, as part of the federal government's observance of the national day of mourning in honor of former President George HW Bush.
