1926

A petition, signed by approximately 75 qualified voters residing in Ozona, was filed with County Judge Chas E. Davidson asking that an election be called at the earliest date provided by the statute to decide at the polls the question of whether or not Ozona should become an incorporated town.

1940

The first move toward the projected publication of a school annual by the students of Ozona High School was taken on Sept. 24 with an election by the student body of the editorial personnel to direct the publication. Bobby Lemmons was selected by the students as editor-in-chief of the annual and Wayne West Jr. was chosen assistant editor.

1975

A new front was completed during the week of Sept. 25 at Sonny's Drive-In Grocery. Colorful redwood shingles form the overhang. The front of the store has been completely glassed in with a glass door, and tile has been used below the glass. It made created a completely new look for what was formerly Lewis Drive In Grocery, the first convenience store for Ozona.

1993

Crockett County was ranked seventh in the state in natural gas production for the month of June with 10,539,333 Mcf (thousand cubic feet). Crude oil production in Crockett County for the period was 290,553 barrels.
