Commissioners Court discusses retirement plan

Ozona—The Crockett County Commissioners Court discussed the employee retirement plan. The Treasurer will send a survey to employees to learn if they want a new plan.

DeerFest donated $750 to the fire department and $750 to EMS.

The Road Department said they spend about two days a month removing tires.

The pool is 18 years old and needs a lot of work.

The Civic Center has a board meeting scheduled for May 22.

The Wellness Center is planning on adding two pickle ball courts and a basketball half-court and shuffle board court. The commissioners voted to apply for a national fitness grant to build fitness courts.

The commissioners discussed a possible Wellness Center and West Texas Rehab partnership.

The Care Center discussed a broken sewer pipe, broken shower tile in two showers and broken nurse call system.

The Library wants to offer evening ESL and GED courses in the fall. There will be new summer activities. The commissioners discussed the Library participating with Dolly Parton’s literacy program where babies up to 5 years-old receive a free book a year.

The Court voted to reduce the speed limit to 15 miles per hour in front of Ozona Middle School and Ozona High School, and approved no U-turn signs on Ave. D by Ozona High School.
