Ozona Bank employees promoted

Ozona—Ozona Bank is proud to announce two promotions in the Ozona market. Both embody the core values of Ozona Bank: trustworthy, dependable, professional, and caring and are true assets to our team and community.

Monic Castro has been promoted to assistant cashier/assistant branch manager. She has lived in Ozona her whole life and celebrated her 10th anniversary with the Bank on Feb. 24. Monic began as a full-time teller in the motor bank, then transferred to the lobby. After two years there, she was promoted to financial services representative and has served in this position for approximately 8 years.

In Monic’s new role, she will provide invaluable support to our tellers and front-line staff, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service for our customers. She will be assisting Melinda Valdes, branch operations manager, in various roles and responsibilities. Monic takes great pride in building meaningful connections. She knows our customers by name and delights in bringing smiles to their faces. Outside of work, Monic enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Michell “Chell” Cruz has been promoted to assistant vice president/consumer lender. She is a veteran at Ozona Bank, serving for 14 years in various roles. Chell began her career with the bank as a full-time teller, then became a loan assistant and a backup financial services representative.

During Chell’s tenure at Ozona Bank, she has learned to listen to customers, to have true compassion for them, and to help find a resolution to their financial needs.

Chell feels Ozona Bank is different from other banks.

“Our customer service is excellent and important to all of us. I see it in the daily operations and interactions. This echoes the bank’s core values. We like to make our customers feel valued and assured they are not just a number,” Chell said.

Chell is married to Luis Cruz and has 3 sons and a grandson. She enjoys learning new things and spending time with her family. She also serves on the J. Cleo Thompson’s Wellness Center Board of Directors.
