CCCCSD considers tax cuts
Crockett County—On July 19 the Crockett County Consolidated Common School District Board convened in regular session to discuss new changes and proposals to county regulations.
The board discussed the new candidates for the ESC XV for TASB Directors, which dictates many Ozona proceedings. There are two candidates this year, and the district is considering endorsing one. However, the candidates were not present at this meeting and the endorsement will be determined in August.
The Crockett County Appraisal District is considering new tax cuts for homestead exemptions. County residents will collectively save over $70,000 in total with the new exemptions.
The Fire and Sheriff’s Department have proposed a “no parking zone” on one side of Highway 163 to allow for first responders’ vehicles space in case of emergency.
No vote was taken, but the court agreed that there were no apparent issues with the idea.
The lane will be painted red on its curb and signs will accompany it. The only parking exceptions will be buses picking up and dropping off students, as well as service and maintenance vehicles.
The CCCCSD installed new carpeting in all its classrooms for the upcoming school year.
Many on the Board attended specialized board training in Fredericksburg on Monday and Tuesday in order to improve as board members.
