1924

Jan.11-A proposal for the establishment of county free library for Crockett County was brought to the Commissioners Court in regular session Monday by a committee representing the Ozona Woman's Club. The Woman’s Club has adopted the county library plan as its project for this year. An exhaustive study of the possibilities and advantages of the plan has been made by committees from the organization in advance of presentation to the court. There are at present 14 county libraries in Texas, established and operated under the library law. 

1944

Jan. 13-Moving up closer behind the fighting line of the slowly advancing British and American armies in Italy is Major H.B. Tandy, an Ozona physician. He landed a little more than a year ago with the American units in North Africa, and has written another of his interesting letters to his family here, describing, among other experiences, a visit to field hospitals behind the lines on Christmas day.

1974

Jan. 10-An absent-minded yardkeeper or a faulty sprinkler system created this scene of icy splendor Thursday morning at the home of Mrs. Clay Adams. Glistening icicles fell from trees, shrubs, and lawn furniture, while the grass was covered with thousands of icy toad stools. The below-freezing temperatures kept the scene intact all day.

1984

The 37th Annual Crockett County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale was held Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the county show barn with a record number of 4-H members, lambs and goats. Some 100 4-H members exhibited 400 lambs, 100 goats and 2 steers. The county 4-H lamb feeding program has grown to be the second largest in the state.
