Manuela Badillo Vargas, 92, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 10, 2020.  Manuela was born on June 17, 1927 in Ft. McKavett, Texas to Tirzo and Maria Badillo.  She married Everardo (Pancho) Vargas on January 29, 1950.  They spent 70 years together as husband & wife and raised a beautiful family who adored her.  She was a loving mother to 7 children and 3 grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Everardo (Pancho) Vargas, daughters Armandina (Eddie) Ramos, Mary Frances (Jesus “Spider”) Ramirez, Naomi (Eddie) Galindo, Terry (Israel) Gonzales, sons Everardo Jr. (Annette) Vargas, Harvey (Kay) Vargas, Oscar (Lizzy) Vargas, Arnold (Julie) Vargas, Derold (Yvonne) Vargas, and Adrian (Amy) Vargas. She was ‘Wela Mela’ to 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. 

Mela leaves behind a legacy that will be hard to replicate. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren cannot be matched. She was very proud of how close her kids have remained as adults and she loved being the center of all family gatherings. Mela was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and loved gardening.  She leaves a huge gap in our lives but leaves many cherished memories.

Funeral services will be held on February 13th at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church with burial by Kerbow Funeral home following at Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Rosary will be held at 8 pm on Wednesday, February 12th and 10am on Thursday, February 13th.
