Ozona moves south in UIL Realignment

The Ozona Lions will head south for the next two football seasons as the UIL revealed the 2020-2022 Reclassification and Realignment Monday.

The Lions remain in Class 2A Division 1 but will now be placed in Region 4 District 14 with Brackettville, Center Point, Harper, Johnson City and Mason. Johnson City moved down from Class 3A to 2A.

Mason (10-3, 5-0 in district in 2019), Brackett (7-4, 4-1), Center Point (6-5, 3-2) and Harper (2-8, 1-4) were all in a district together last season with Junction and Sabinal.

Junction moved down to 2A Division 2 into District 14 with Christoval, Eldorado, Junction, Miles, Menard and Rocksprings. Sabinal also moved down to Division 2 in a district with Charlotte, La Pryor, Benavides, Bruni and D’Hanis.

Johnson City (3-8, 2-3) moves down from Class 3A Division 2. The Eagles are currently coached by David Sine, who previously coached at Sonora.
