WINTERS - It’s been a magical season for the Ozona High School football team and the Lions set themselves up for the District 3-2A Division I championship this week after rolling past Winters 25-6 Friday night at Blizzards Stadium.

The Lions will host No. 5 Hawley on Friday, Nov. 8, in a winner-take-all 3-2A showdown. This was the regular-season finale for Winters. Both teams will be heading to the postseason.

“We’re excited,” Ozona head coach Kyle Freeman said. “That’s what we’ve been talking about all year long, about forcing that district championship game in our house. They worked hard and that’s exactly what we’ve got. They’re a good team and we respect them.”
