State Rep. Murr talks upcoming Constitutional Amendment Election

The breakdown of the upcoming Proposed 2019 State Constitutional Amendments was presented to a pack crowd by State Rep. Andrew Murr, R-Junction, Tuesday at the Ozona Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.

Murr, who also stopped in Sonora prior to visiting Ozona, took each of the 10 proposed amendments and broke them down. The election will be held Nov. 5. Early voting will be Oct. 21-Nov. 1.

Here are the propositions and how they appear on the ballot:

Proposition 1 - ““The constitutional amendment permitting a person to hold more than one office as a municipal judge at the same time.”

Murr said this would make it easier for an elected or appointed municipal judge to serve in other cities.

Proposition 2 - “The constitutional amendment providing for the issuance of additional general obligation bonds by the Texas Water Development Board in an amount not to exceed $200 million to provide financial assistance for the development of certain projects in economically distressed areas.”
