Lions smother Eagles in fourth shutout

JUNCTION – Making it four in a row, the Ozona Lions got another shutout, 61-0, over Junction Friday night.

The Lions defense held the Eagles to a negative 13 yards.

Sophomore Lane Smith had an interception that he returned for a 50-yard touchdown, and Jesse Vega had a 55-yard interception scoring run.

Jaden Fay and Zachary Talamantez also intercepted the ball.

The Lions sacked the Eagles’ Quarterback five teams. Sacks were by Lazaro Rodriguez, Austin Damian, Aiden Fuentes, Emmanuel Venegas and Fay.

Jose Dominguez and Lazaro Rodriguez led the team with nine tackles each. Carlos Cantu had seven and Vega and Venegas had five each.
