Iva Pauline Bentley

Iva Pauline Bentley was born in Baird, Texas on May 22, 1945. She passed away on April 2, 2019. Pauline was a native of Ozona and graduated from high school here in 1963. She played basketball, was on the annual staff, played trumpet in the band. She was on the soil conservation team. Her class as freshman were the first girls that got to wear jeans to school.

After high school she graduated from the university in El Paso with a degree in physical education. She was a member of ZTA society. She taught PE in Uvalde and went to Center Point where she was the head girls basketball and track coach. She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance where she taught anatomy.

On August 31, 1978 she married Jack Bentley. They have lived here in Ozona ever since.

Pauline is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Terri Crawford and husband Blaine. Granddaughter Heather Price, adopted grandchildren Chris Curtis, Alissa Trusner, Hayley Bushart and Desa Ray Torres. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and AW Maness, siblings, James, Weldon and Bill Maness, Sue Staley, June Meadows, Lou Dugan and Betty Boatman.

Graveside services were Saturday, April 6, in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Flanagan, Wesley Bean, Weldon Dugan, Bobby Jack Maness, Gary Staley, Michael Dugan and Chris Curtis.
