OBIT: Amalia J. Hernandez

Mom, sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend Amalia Hernandez, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday Morning, February 5, 2019, at her residence. She was born August 30, 1944 in Ozona, Texas, to Anita Rivera and Jose Ramirez. 
She lived in Dallas, Texas and was retired from JCPenney as a hairstylist. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her humor, her style, and her exuberant love.  
Amalia was preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Hernandez; parents, Anita Rivera and Jose Ramirez; son, Ismael Hernandez; brother, Martin Martinez.  
Amalia is survived by her children, Christella Gonzaba and David Hernandez; brothers, Joe Martinez and Mario Martinez; sisters Delia Leal, Ana Martinez, and Mercedes Hernandez; seven grandchildren, Louis Cruz Gonzaba, Denise Solis, Cruz Hernandez, Victoria Cruz Hernandez, Yvette Hernandez, Antonio Jay Gonzaba, Santiago Alejandro; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Cruz Vuelvas, Lucas James Gonzaba, Liea Cruz Hernandez and Nevaeh Cruz Hernandez. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. You are our Sunshine.
A Rosary will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Kerbow Funeral Home and Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Amalia’s Pallbearers will be Louis Cruz Gonzaba, Antonio Jay Gonzaba, Victoria Cruz Hernandez, Cruz Hernandez, Raul Rios and Martin Martinez Jr.
