A 31 year-old Laredo man was killed when two truck tractor-trailers collided and caught fire late one foggy night last week.

Preliminary investigation show that at around 11:43 p.m. on Jan. 15, a 2000 International Truck Tractor and towed trailer, driven by Flavio Zapata, began to make a left turn onto U.S. Highway 190, at the U.S. Highway 190 and State Highway 137 intersection, and disregarded the stop sign while doing so, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Kyle Patrick Wartenbee, 37, of Gulfport, Miss. was driving a 2007 Peterbilt Truck Tractor and towed trailer that was traveling east on U.S. Highway 190 and saw Zapata’s vehicle enter the same highway.
