SAN ANGELO – Workers are transforming a small corner lot in downtown San Angelo into a unique oasis intended to celebrate the people of West Texas, their history and their rich agricultural heritage.

The space the park occupies is only about a half-cityblock at the corner of East Twohig and South Oakes, just catty-cornered from the Cactus Hotel, but what it has to offer will bring visitors from throughout the Concho Valley.

Not only will the park afford a respite for visitors and shoppers, offering seating under a unique shade structure; the park’s design features include interactive elements that will show and tell the stories of the area’s ranching heritage and encourage conservation of natural resources.
