Ollie "Marvine" Byrnes, age 76, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Ozona, Texas. She was born in Rankin, Texas on October 11, 1941 to Bert and Ollie Belle (Wall) Potts.
Marvine was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Monahans for over 40 years. She took great joy in delivering the taped sermons to shut-in members each week. She was a very gifted and talented crocheter and those who knew her very seldom ever left without one of her special crocheted pot holders or hot pads.
Marvine worked many years for Mitchell Food and then as a sitter for the elderly. She loved each and every one of the individuals she sat with.
Marvine is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Buddy Potts; sister: Barbara West; and grandson: Casey Brewer.
She is survived by her daughter: Rita Diane Brewer; grandsons: Daniel Bigham and Colin Brewer; and great-grandchildren: Anastasia Bigham and Daniel Bigham Jr.; sister: LaDonna Truelock and husband James; brother-in-law: Sherman West; special lifelong friends: Larry and Gloria Sprouse. Many nieces, a nephew, cousins, and friends are left to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be today, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 1402 S. Main, Monahans, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. at Southside with Brother Mark Fricke officiating. Graveside services will follow at Monahans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Bigham, David Haygood, Chris Stout, James Truelock, Sherman West and Mary Williamson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
