Lions focused on new season

The Ozona Lions are gearing up for another football season, in hopes to make a run for the district championship. The Lions held their first day of workouts Monday. Athletic Director and Head Coach Kyle Freeman said players were “enthusiastic” about starting the new season.

“The experienced returners looked very good and crisp,” Freeman said of the first day. The Lions lost a large group of seniors last year, so Freeman said this year’s varsity team will be competing with players that were on the JV squad last season.
