CCCCSD Superintendent testifies in Austin on school finance

Asking the state to address a broken school finance system, CCCCSD Superintendent Raul Chavarria spoke to the Texas House Ways and Means Committee during a hearing last week in Austin. The committee addressed a series of bills on school finance and property taxes on Aug. 2, including House Bill 285 filed by State Rep. Andrew Murr, R-Junction.

Chavarria testified in favor of the bill, which, if passed, would have ended the “Robin Hood” school finance system.
