Howard Dennis Davis, 78, of Ozona, TX, went to meet his Savior on June 13, 2026.
Born October 19, 1947, he was a devoted Christian, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, father and grandfather. He embraced each of these titles with abundant love. Known for leading with kindness and a calm gentle demeanor, his patience and gift of gab meant Dennis could find a friend no matter where he was. Dennis was a star quarterback of the Pecos Eagles in High School, a talented musician playing bass guitar in the band Doc Davis, as well as a successful small business owner. He cared for others and their wellbeing selflessly, always putting others’ needs before his own.
Dennis is survived by his beloved sister, Cathy Dawn Davis Moore, his children, Chad P. Davis, Andrew F. (Amanda) Davis, Sarah L. Davis, and James W. (JoAnna) Davis, as well as his grandchildren Taylor (Mitchell), Abigail, Penelope, Elias, Charlotte, Samuel, and step grandchildren Stasia (Gage), Robert, Elise, and Jackson. Dennis is also survived by his loving sisters in law, Harriet Fitts, Kathy (Bill) Howard, Martha (Jeffrey) Welborn, as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews including Ray Hudson, Jackie Gunn. Jack Davis (wife Janet), Dave Davis and (wife Nancy). Lastly, Dennis is survived by close friends Douglas Moore, Julie (Davis) Sheaffer, Veva Vargas, James Peoples Jr. & Julie Randolph. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard W. Davis & Wanda M. Davis, as well as his sister, D’Anndra Davis Hatch. Dennis is also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles M. Fitts Jr. & Jane K. Watts Fitts. 
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations honoring Dennis’s life be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for his daughter, Sarah.
