The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of calls for service during the reporting period.

Incident Highlights:

May 25: A deputy responded to reports of a suspicious person on Blas Street, a disturbance on Avenue A, a reckless driver on IH-10, and an open door on Avenue D. Deputies also assisted two stranded motorists on IH-10.

May 26: Deputies responded to reports of smoke on Santa Rosa Street, an abandoned vehicle at the intersection of State Highway 163 North and U.S. Highway 190, welfare concerns on IH-10 and 15th Street, and a child custody exchange on 14th Street. Deputies also responded to a motor vehicle crash on IH-10 with assistance from Fire and EMS personnel.

May 27: Deputies assisted a stranded motorist on State Highway 163 South and a citizen with unlocking a vehicle on Avenue E. Additional calls included vandalism reports on Mulberry Drive and Avenue J, a suspicious vehicle on 1st Street, and a welfare concern on Swaps Street.

May 28: Deputies assisted a stranded motorist on Avenue E and responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 137 North with no reported injuries. Additional calls included a hit-and-run on Walnut Drive, a disturbance on Leal Street, suspicious vehicles on IH-10 and County Road 405, and a suspicious person on Piedra Street.

May 29: Deputies responded to a reckless driver report on State Highway 137 North, motor vehicle crashes on U.S. Highway 190 and IH-10, a trespassing complaint on Coates Street, and a suspicious person report on Pine Street.

May 30: Deputies assisted a stranded motorist on IH-10, responded to a welfare concern on Avenue E, and investigated a motor vehicle crash on IH-10 with EMS assistance.

May 31: Deputies responded to a disturbance on Avenue AA, a loud music complaint on Santa Ana Street, and a suspicious person report on Santa Ana Street.

Arrests:

An individual from Spring Branch, Texas, was arrested for Motion to Revoke Theft of Property. The subject was arraigned and remains in custody.

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to serving and protecting the citizens of Crockett County and encourages residents to report suspicious activity or emergencies promptly.
