The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity for the week of March 30 through April 5, 2026:

  • 911 Medical/Fire Calls: 2 
  • Civil Complaints: 4 
  • Civil Documents Served: 1 
  • Criminal Complaints/Disturbances/Loud Noise: 0 
  • Juvenile/School Incidents: 0 
  • Motorist Assists/Locked Vehicles: 5 
  • Reckless Driving/Speeding Complaints: 2 
  • Minor/Major Traffic Accidents: 1 
  • Alarm Calls: 0 
  • Traffic Stops: 70 
  • Stolen Vehicle/Trailer/Property Reports: 6 

Notable Incidents:

April 6:
Deputies responded to multiple calls, including a stolen vehicle report at Hitchin Post Campground, a reckless driver on Interstate 10, a stolen property report on Leal Street, and a suspicious person on Avenue I.

April 7:
A deputy assisted a stranded motorist on Interstate 10.

April 8:
Deputies handled four walk-in reports of stolen vehicles/property. Additional calls included an unattended death in Santa Rosa with EMS assistance, a motor vehicle accident on FM 2083 involving EMS, and a motorist assist on Interstate 10.

April 9:
Deputies responded to a reckless driver complaint on Man O’ War Boulevard, conducted a welfare check at Crockett Apartments, and performed two additional welfare checks on Leal Street. A suspicious person was also reported on Interstate 10.

April 10:
Emergency personnel, including fire, DPS, and EMS, responded alongside deputies to a grass fire on Interstate 10. Other calls included a trespassing report at Avenue E and 3rd Street and a motorist assist on Interstate 10.

April 11:
Deputies investigated suspicious activity at Hitchin Post Steakhouse, Crockett County Fairgrounds, and the Ozona Chamber of Commerce. Additional calls included a locked vehicle assist on Avenue E and a motorist assist at Avenue G and 11th Street.

April 12:
Deputies responded to suspicious person reports at the Crockett County Care Center and on Willow Drive, as well as a reckless driver complaint on Interstate 10.

Arrests:

  • A San Antonio individual was arrested for Failure to Appear – Possession of a Controlled Substance and was arraigned. 
  • A San Antonio individual was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (3rd or more offense) and was arraigned. 
  • A Corpus Christi individual was arrested on an out-of-county warrant for larceny, arraigned, and released to the charging agency. 
  • An El Paso individual was arrested on an out-of-county warrant for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, arraigned, posted bond, and was released. 
  • A Seminole individual was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and was arraigned.
