Alena Fay Powers Hokit

Alena Fay Powers Hokit was born 12/12/1935. She died 1/5/2026. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday. She grew up on the ranch in Crockett County and lived most of her life here. She had several years in Jal and Artesia New Mexico and then moved to Dryden, Texas and eventually returned to Ozona. She played volleyball while in school. After graduating she went to Drones Business College in Abilene, Texas. She worked for Dixon Mahon and for the School District in the business office. She went to work for the Water Office from many years and retired from there.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed watching them play little league baseball. 
Survivors include Jimmy (James) Thomas Hokit (Cynthia), Melinda Sue Hokit, Kent Estes Hokit and his two sons, Austin Thomas Hokit and Bryce William Hokit.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Tom Powers – 1989 and Hilda Powers in 2004 (Fondly called Gramer by many friends and family alike) and by her husband Floyd in 2005.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Austin and Bryce Hokit; John L. Henderson, Wesley and Ryan Bean and Max Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Bean, Cade Clark, Oscar Galindo, Louis Bunger and Rick Hensley.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Crocket County Care Center for the care and love provided for her.
