The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls and incidents during the reporting period:

Calls for Service

  • Livestock, wild or domestic animal complaints: 0
  • 911 medical and fire calls: 38
  • Civil complaints: 17
  • Civil documents served: 5
  • Criminal complaints, disturbances, loud music: 16
  • Juvenile/school-related calls: 1
  • Motorist assists/locked vehicles: 13
  • Reckless driving/speeding complaints: 13
  • Minor and major traffic accidents: 15
  • Alarms: 3
  • Traffic stops: 206

Incident Highlights

Nov. 24–30: Deputies responded to multiple disturbances on Avenue AA, Leal Street, Avenue E and War Admiral. Numerous welfare checks, reckless driving complaints and motorist assists occurred along Interstate 10. Deputies also responded to a structure fire on Avenue E, with the Fire Department assisting, and a report of shots fired on Interstate 10.

Dec. 1–7: Deputies handled several motor vehicle crashes, including incidents on Interstate 10 and State Highway 163, some requiring EMS and fire response. Other calls included suspicious persons or vehicles, business alarms, criminal trespass, threats, welfare checks and child custody standbys.

Dec. 8–14: Deputies continued to respond to welfare concerns, disturbances, alarms, traffic accidents and reckless driving complaints. Multiple 911 hang-up calls were investigated. Motorist assists and locked vehicle calls remained frequent, particularly along Interstate 10.

Arrests

  • Nov. 24: Randy Machado Ramos, Ozona — Criminal mischief, criminal trespass; arraigned, remains in custody.

  • Nov. 26: Gerado Garza Rangel, Ozona — Failure to appear, duty on striking unattended vehicle; arraigned, posted bond, released.

  • Nov. 27: Claudia Luna Gomez, Big Spring — Tampering with government record; arraigned, remains in custody.

  • Nov. 30: Jesus Ariel Esparza Zamora, Ozona — Theft, Class C; arraigned, released after jail time.

  • Dec. 3:   Earnest Adams, no address — Schleicher County warrant, unlawful possession of firearm by felon; arraigned, transferred to Schleicher County.

  •  Christian Jovani Beltran, Rosharon — Violation of bond/protective order; arraigned, posted bond, released.

Dec. 4:
LLeand Mendoza, Ozona — Hindering apprehension of known felon, possession of controlled substance PG 1 <1 gram; arraigned, remains in custody. 

  • Rocky Munoz, Ozona — Hindering apprehension of known felon, possession of controlled substance PG 1 <1 gram; arraigned, posted bond, released. 
  • Dec. 5: Karly Marie Perez, Ozona — Midland County warrant, theft of property $750 to $2,500; arraigned, posted bond, released.

  • Dec. 9: John Wesley Hardy, Ozona — Violation of bond/protective order; arraigned, remains in custody.

  •  Adolfo Israel Perez, Ozona — Assault causing bodily injury, family member; arraigned, posted bond, released.
  • Dec. 10: Carlos Javier Ochoa-Galindo, Ozona — Parole warrant, failure to appear, aggravated assault with deadly weapon (two counts, SBI); arraigned, remains in custody.

  •  John Jacob McKenzie, Picayune, Mississippi — Possession of controlled substance PG 2 <1 gram, possession of dangerous drug, unlawful carrying weapon; arraigned, posted bond, released.
  •  Dec. 11: Nathan Humberto Ramirez, Glendale, California — Possession of controlled substance PG 2 ≥1 gram <4 grams, possession of marijuana <2 ounces; arraigned, posted bond, released.
  •  Fernando Garcia, San Antonio — Possession of marijuana <2 ounces; arraigned, posted bond, released.
  •  Dec. 13: Rebecca Munos Cliff, Odessa — Criminal trespass; arraigned, remains in custody.
