November 21, 1935
Two inspectors who are working as special deputies under the sheriff have been employed by Crockett County to check all movement of livestock by truck in an effort to curb theft from ranches in this county and to co-operate with adjoining counties in running down those responsible for recent widespread activities of livestock thieves.

November 22, 1945
To keep Ozona and Crockett County abreast of the day in prospective rapid post-war development of civilian aviation, Crockett County will purchase the land on which the Ozona airport has been developed, thus making the airport permanently available for community use. Announcement of the decision to purchase the airport site was made by County Judge Houston Smith and members of the Commissioners Court at a meeting of aviation enthusiast Friday night at the Hotel Ozona.

November 17, 1955
Ozona Rotary Club staged its First Annual Turkey Shoot last Sunday afternoon on the Gene Williams ranch with a large turnout of local nimrods. In the turkey shoot at 100 yards off-hand, 13 contestants for their turkey. They were Linn Hicks, J. L. Barbee, Warren Taliaferro, Boyd Clayton, Roy Killingsworth, James Simmler, Floyd Hokit, Cap West, Allen Haire, Jacke Brewer, James Chapman, D.L. Merritt and Sam Perner. On the 100 yard target shoot, the following carried off most of the prizes: Arthur Kyle, Cap West, Jack Brewer, George Bunger and Roy Killingsworth. The Rotary Club considered the shoot very successful and cleared about $150, the money to be used on Christmas projects in the community.

November 18, 1965
Vicki Lynn Montgomery, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Montgomery, was crowned 1965 Football Sweetheart Friday night before the Ozona-Rankin game got underway. Crowning the Sweetheart and presenting her with a dozen red carnations and a football charm were captains David Lewis, Pon Seahorn, Larry Williams and Billy Carson.

November 20, 1975
HUNTING GOOD IN NORTH PART OF COUNTY TOO -- Jerry Huckabay and Ricky Huckabay of Odessa, right, bagged the three beauties here north of Ozona on the John Childress ranch. The deer were fat and heavy and points ranged from 8 to 12. Duane Childress assists at left. The deer were taken early Saturday morning near Midway Lane.
