In the picture are State Senator Darsey B. Hardeman; State Archeologist Curtis Tunnell, John Ben Sheppard of Odessa, State Historical Survey Committee Chairman, and Henry E. Meadows of Midland, representing the heirs of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard B. Cox, who donated the land, on which the fort is located, to Crockett county for its “preservation, maintenance and public use, benefit and enjoyment.”

TIRED CLOWN LEFT OVER FROM HALLOWEEN — The staff, here at the Stockman, thought we had found an orange and black stuffed doll, but as it was, it was a real live boy. The Halloween activities so exhausted him, he took time out for a nap in a recliner in the comer of the office. He was hardly disturbed by press noise or anything else for that matter. However, he's up and at 'em this week. He is 14-month-old Mark Ramirez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Ramirez, Jr.
A healthy Crockett County requires great community news.
