The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office handled a variety of calls for service during the week of Oct. 13–19. Deputies responded to medical and fire emergencies, traffic incidents, animal complaints and a number of other calls across the county.

Incidents

Oct. 13
A deputy was dispatched to Ward Street for a reported explosion. AEP was notified regarding a transformer issue.

Oct. 14
A deputy assisted a citizen on Avenue H with a locked vehicle.
A deputy responded to Mesquite Drive for a report of a suspicious person.
Deputies were dispatched to Rio Grande Street for criminal trespassing.
A deputy conducted a welfare check on Leal Street.
A reckless driver was reported on Avenue AA.

Oct. 15
Deputies responded to Interstate 10 for a motor vehicle crash with fire and EMS also on scene.
A deputy assisted a citizen with a courtesy transport.
Deputies investigated property damage on State Highway 163 South.
Deputies and the fire department responded to a fire on Interstate 10.
A disturbance was reported on Avenue G.
Deputies and firefighters responded to a second fire on War Admiral.
A reckless driver was reported on Avenue I.

Oct. 16
A deputy assisted a motorist on Interstate 10.
Deputies responded to a minor crash on FM 2083; DPS also responded.
A deputy investigated a 911 open line on Interstate 10.
Deputies provided a custody standby on State Highway 163 South.
Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 163 North.

Oct. 17
Deputies were dispatched to State Highway 163 North for a reckless driver.
A disturbance was reported on Coates Street.

Oct. 18
Firefighters responded to a grass fire on County Road 208.
A deputy assisted a citizen with a vehicle lockout on Mulberry Street.
Deputies investigated a 911 open line on Interstate 10.

Oct. 19
Deputies responded to two residential alarms on 11th Street.
A disturbance was reported on Avenue E.
Deputies provided a custody standby on State Highway 163 South.
A reckless driver was reported on Interstate 10.
Deputies responded to two motor vehicle crashes on Interstate 10.

Arrests

Oct. 14
Christopher Paul Rohm, of San Antonio, was arrested on a Bexar County warrant for assault causing bodily injury. Rohm was arraigned, made bond and released.

Oct. 17
Jontrey Rembrant Houston, of Houston, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, failure to identify fugitive with intent to give false information, and an out-of-state warrant from Illinois for failure to appear/burglary-retail theft. Houston was arraigned and remains in custody.

Oct. 18
Joe Louis Perez, of Ozona, was arrested for murder. Perez was arraigned, made bond and released.
Kelsey Jaden Van Oel, of Panama City, Florida, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG2 less than 1 gram, possession of a dangerous drug, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, unlawful carry of a weapon, and possession of marijuana greater than 2 ounces but less than or equal to 4 ounces. Van Oel was arraigned and remains in custody.
