A new business, offering merchandise which has been for the most part unavailable in Ozona heretofore, will be opened here within the next few days. Cecil Ladson and his brother-in-law, Ross Dickey, formerly of El Paso, have secured the franchise of the Kenyon Auto Stores and will open an associate store in the Busby building which they recently purchased.
The business is located next to the Methodist Center and adjoining the Miller Service Station. The firm will carry a line of household appliances, automobile parts and accessories, sporting goods and fishing tackle, toys and novelties. A formal opening is planned as soon as all fixtures are installed and stock arranged.

Ozona High School ex-students and other ex-Ozonans gathered in numbers here Saturday to observe Ozona’s third homecoming, which was kicked off Friday night with the Ozona-Rankin football game and wound up with a dance at the country club with the Firemen’s Band furnishing music.
Mrs. W. E. West, who was a student in Ozona schools when Crockett County was organized in 1891, was crowned Homecoming Queen for 1955. Some 30 floats were entered in a giant afternoon parade through downtown streets as the afternoon feature of the day’s observance. Cash prizes were offered for the most beautiful float, won by the Ozona Woman’s Club entry; for the most original, won by the Freshman class of Ozona High School; and second and third places, won by the class of 1939 and the Sophomore class, respectively. Judges were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Werst and Supt. and Mrs. McKinney of Big Lake.

REMODELING RECENTLY COMPLETED AT BIG "O" THEATRE includes this new and much larger lighted sign mounted in a brick planter. The sign can be seen from miles. Also, the patio adjoining the theatre has recently been remodeled to include a covered top with hanging baskets. Besides serving in the restaurant before the nightly shows, the theatre now offers Monday lunch between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A healthy Crockett County requires great community news.
