4-H members shine at State Fair

Dallas—Two Crockett County 4-H members took the stage at the State Fair of Texas, proudly representing their community in one of the state’s largest youth livestock competitions. 

Grey Pierce and Shae Everett exhibited their market goats during the fair, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the show ring while learning more about livestock exhibition at a statewide level. 

For the young competitors, the event was about more than ribbons. Beyond the competition, they had the chance to meet fellow 4-H members from across Texas, building friendships and sharing knowledge with peers who share their passion for agriculture. 

The State Fair livestock show is considered one of the premier youth agricultural events in Texas, attracting participants from hundreds of counties. It serves as both a showcase of livestock and a learning opportunity for youth pursuing future projects in agriculture.
