Julia was born on Sept. 3, 1927 to Clarence Julius Lundgren and Minnie Hannah (Maycroft) Lundgren in Greenleaf, Kansas. She graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1944. In 1953, she was off to see the world as a civil servant secretary traveling to Korea and then Japan where she met the love of her life, Air Force Officer Billy Dan Watson from Iraan, Texas. They were married on July 2, 1955. Julia and Bill's adventure took them from Japan to Presque Isle Air Force Base, Maine and then on to Lubbock, Texas to attend TTU, then went to Clovis, N.M. while working for Sears. While in Clovis, they were blessed with the adoption of their first daughter, Janell. Leaving Clovis, their journey took them to Ozona where they became self-employed as the owners of Watson's Department Store, where they lived, loved, and raised their family also during this time Doreen was added to the family. Julia and Bill were active members of the Ozona Church of Christ and spent endless hours helping all of those who were in need through the church as well as through their store by giving to others without expecting repayment or praise. Both worked as a unified couple at the Pecos Encampment where they built cabins and volunteered their time each year in the service of the Lord.
Julia loved to cook for her family and no one will ever forget her pancakes, Christmas treats, nor will they forget the grandchildren's Christmas Eve pizza bake-off at Ge's.
Julia was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. Julia's talents of working with her hands amazed all. She loved to read, being outdoors, and to travel. She enjoyed volunteering for friends and neighbors where ever she was needed. She also was an active member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Arlington and volunteered at Mission Printing.
Julia had a beautiful sense of humor, enjoyed family and social gatherings, and greeted everyone with a smile. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Dan Watson (9-30-1990) and daughter, Janell Watson Ramsey (9-30-1990).
