Robert 'Bob' Borrego Longoria

Robert “Bob” Borrego Longoria, age 49, passed away in his home, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2010 after a year long battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 27, 1960 in Ozona to the late Santos
and Enrique Longoria. Robert was a 1979 graduate of Ozona High School. He worked in the oilfield several years until he became self-employed. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sylvia De Hoyos-Longoria along with their granddaughter Jezebel “Jezzie” Ramirez whom they are raising together, two sons: Mathew Longoria, his wife Marisol of Houston, Texas and Robert De Hoyos of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Mona Lisa Sanchez, of Ozona; eight other grandchildren: Ebony, John Daniel “J.D.”, Ethan, and Christopher Ramirez; Zaylee, Isaiah and Nehemiah Longoria and Melody Rae De Hoyos. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Paulino “Paul” Borrego Longoria and his grandparents, Placido Sr. and Maria Borrego, Enriques Longoria and Carmen Mendez.
Viewing for Robert was held Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 and Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Preddy Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. on both days. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ozona. Internment was at Lima Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: David Longoria, Manuel Borrego, Felipe
Ramirez, Juan Borrego, Juan Carlos Borrego and David Delgado. Honorary Pallbearers were: Rick Martinez and Patrick Rodriquez.
